Our Secret Santa Lives in Canada!

I am a part of a group on Facebook called Cats With Blogs. I am a VERY special poodle to be accepted into this group. Considering I talk about Molly Mew and Dae Dae so much and share many photos, the cat bloggers decided I was fit to be in their group.
Trust me, it isn't easy to be accepted and especially when you are a DOG.
I had to promise not to chase them and they had to promise not to claw or bite me. We came together in unison and I have been thrilled. I have learned so much about cats and how they think.
This has to make me the WORLD's SMARTEST POODALE.

Every year they have a gift exchange between them. Paula from Sweet Perfections, organizes it every year. Names are drawn and no one knows who their Santa Paws is until they get your package. This was the first time we have participated in this activity. I thought it would be fun to send gifts to a kitty or kitties that maybe I didn't know. Shopping for kitties is always fun. I think they have the best toys, treats, and food. Ma says I am not supposed to eat the food but if I don't get caught eating it, I stay out of trouble.

Our Secret Paws from Samantha and Mom

Sophie here! The Mama finally let us open our Secret Paws presents. We had been sniffing the box and wrapped presents for what seemed like ages. And when we finally got at ‘em, we weren’t disappointed.
We would like to say a very big thank you to our new kitty friend Samantha and her mom Chandra from Life from a Cat’s Perspective for picking out the awesome toys and treats!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with lots of love (and catnip)!
Olive sniffing one of our presents.

Dexter checking out all the loot.

He really wants that toy that the Mama is holding.

“Give it to me!”

I got to play with it next.

“Gotcha!”

Olive was all about the treats.

“Give me another, Ma.”

“Mmmm. Smells so nice.”

Chomp!
Thanks again to Samantha and her mom Chandra! We love all of the presents!

And a very big thank you to Paula at Sweet Purrfections for organizing Secret Paws. It was our first year participating and we had a blast.

Christmas with Keisha #Secret Paws

Thanksful for Dragonheart, Merlin and Devi

You read right. This little ghetto kitteh is thankful for three Sphynx cats from Canada. Over the past six months I've been following Merlin, Dragonheart and Devi and you should too. I've been participating in Secret Paws for the last four years and have gotten some wonderful prezzies. This year was no exception.

I could tell this package was put together with love. Everything was either made in Canada where they live or handmade except the treats. They really know how to make a cat feel special. There was a beautiful Christmas card and letter explaining what everything was. Their human mom is very talented. She crocheted a wash cloth and soap saver for TW (left in the above photo) and some toys and a super cool mat for me. We love the Christmasy yarn the toys and TW's gifts are made with. Some of the cat toys were bought locally by their home and they also included some Ludwig Spice Noel Canadian dark chocolate for TW and Pop which was quickly devoured. My peeps said it was delicious and thank you.

Thanksful for Dragonheart, Merlin and Devi

There aren't many pics of how nicely the prezzies were wrapped cos Pop tore into everything without rhyme or reason. This image of several of the packages is a video still. I am biting Pop because he wants to unwrap one of the packages.

The crocheted chain was a yuge hit with this kitteh as was the Greenies Smartbites! Here's a little slideshow with some of the pics and video TW took of me in action. We know how much they like scrapbooking so we picked a theme that we thought they'd like. I don't go for wand toys but strings are among my fave toys. TW hides them unless she's around to play with me which isn't often enough for my liking.

TW put the mat on the chair next to Pop's chair cos I love to keep Pop company while he reads the paper or checks out his Facebook page.

Thank you to Mom Paula of Sweet Purrfections for doing the heavy lifting to get Secret Paws up and running and for matching me with the cats at Chat Aux Sphynx. Thanks to Devi, Dragonheart, Merlin and their talented Mom C. who must want to remain anonymous.

I'm sharing some different pics on my Stunning Keisha blog so come over and visit me there. This is part of the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop at Brian's Home.

Secret Santa Paws for the win!

Santa Paws came early here at our house! Our Secret Santa Paws package arrived in early December. This here human wanted to wait until closer to Christmas to open it. Patience is a virtue, after all. The furbabies protested, but I won out. At least, until I ran out of places to hide the box from a certain little kitty girl (ahem, Thimble).

That being the case, we opened our package from our Secret Santa Paws a week before Christmas. So, why are we just now posting about it here? Because this human has some faulty wiring in her brain. I'm sorry, I'm human, what can I say. Over on our blog we made an entire week of posts about our fantastic gifts from our Secret Santa Paws (because there are just that many goodies!), but now we'll post about it here.

First and foremost, who was our Secret Santa Paws? None other than Jean and her furbabies! And, let us tell you, they did the most pawesome job selecting gifts for our entire crew here!

Just look at that box of goodies!

Sometimes you just have to dive right in on all that festive fun.

The first furbaby to open their gift was actually pup Astrid. (Even though this was technically a gift exchange for kitties, Astrid indeed got a gift of her very own!)

The reason why Astrid got to open her gift first is evidenced above. She immediately sniffed out her gift and stole it from the box of goodies. That being said, it was delicious and she loved it (even if she did have to pose for a picture with it first)!

Then the kitties got their turns. They hit the payload with their gifts, that's for sure!

We love mousies!

Everything is so pretty, and these balls even rattle!

Crinkle balls!

Feathery, catnip goodness!

Evan got some new cat grass, and he cannot wait to enjoy it. He even said he'd share with the other kitties. You see, by no fault of their own, the last time they had cat grass, it didn't survive. A certain human forgot to water it, but that is water under the bridge now, right? More importantly, that won't happen to this new cat grass!

On top of the cat grass, Evan got another gift near and dear to his heart.

Party Mix!

What have you there, Thimble?

The most adorable ducky wand toy ever, that's what!

And it just so happens to be cute and fun!

Thank you, Jean and furbabies! You sent us the most perfect and fun and festive gifts, and we love them all!

Oh, but I can't forget. This here human wasn't left out by our Secret Santa Paws. I was sent the most lovely owl ornament, handmade by Jean herself.

Isn't it too cute? I am always so fond of handmade gifts, and this is perfect. And even just look at the lovely box it came in. Thank you, Jean!

This was actually our very first year to participate in Secret Paws. Let's suffice it to say, we'll be doing it again next year, and every year after that!

We wish you all a very merry Christmas!

Buckwheat's gifts from Sometimes Cats Herd You

I was so excited to be playing in the Secret Paws game this year for the first time!  Angel kitty William did it for several years and always got really great gifts, so I just had to do it too.  My gifts came from some kitties that I hadn't really met before.  LL had heard of them, but hadn't checked them out until receiving the package and then going to their blog at www.catsherdyou.com .  Pierre, Newton and Ashton are really cool  and they have a great photographer!  We are so pleased to meet you guys and will definitely be adding you to our reading list.  That is one of the really neat parts of this game, you never know who your gifts will come from and usually you find a fun new friend and blog.

On to the prezzints!

I sat by this box for like 2 weeks or something, it got here way before Christmas, but LL wouldn't let me open it until the big day.  All that time I could smell something good in there.

Finally the day arrived and we opened it up!  And like the good assistant that I am, I helped get into it. Going straight for the thing that I could smell.

You can't see it real well, but it was one of my most favorite things in all of the land...
A nip banana from Yeowww!  I love all things nip and this was awesome!

There was this cool little bug toy, it looks like fun, but I have so many new toys that LL hasn't opened it yet, but when she does, I bet it will be super fun.

They sent me oodles of Temptations with a Snacky Mouse toy and a new Cat Dancer as well, but we didn't get pictures of those.

LL was also impressed with the peepul prezzint that was included, she got this great book!  Texts from Mittens.  She has read many pages, but hasn't finished all of it.  She says that Mittens is quite the character and is glad that I don't know how to text.  She also got some of her favorite Lindt Chocolate Truffles.

Thank you so very much Pierre, Newton and Ashton, you guys have great taste in prezzint picking!!

Peaches & Paprika's Secret Paws Bonanza from Lola the Rescued Cat

by Peaches & Paprika...

Oh wow did we EVER get lucky! Our Secret Paws gifts were from Dawn White and Lola the Rescued Cat and we are still trying to get over the thrill of it all. A more thoughtful gift we could not have dreamed of.

DISCOVERY

Remember Paprika I get first dibs on whatever is in there!
Once we got a handle on what was in there, we realized how lucky we were!
I preferred to approach gradually

While I Paprika believe
in the tactical approach
Well to make a short story long, the box contained a laser pointer (oooweee, a cat catcher from da bird, Hartz Midnight crazies balls, Fat Cat Appeteasers, a turbo cat CYCLONE (to match our wild mood) and the most best catnip in the world over which we went crazy ("from the field" catnip). And there was a CAT SCARF, very elegant, for our human. (She never got to wear it though...details below)

Now we must take you to the actual event!

Here I am eyeing the purple appeteaser

Peaches liked it too

But she went crazy over the OTHER green Appeteaser!

Just look at her waving those pink toes around. You'd think it had catnip in it!

Next we checked out the LASER POINTER

and the CAT CATCHER from daBird(our favorite) (Peaches did a backwards somersault when trying to catch it and nearly terrified her human!)

Watch us check out the turbo catnip cyclone!

And then came THE SEARCH FOR THE CATNIP...

IT'S IN THIS WHITE PACKAGE I JUST KNOW IT!

FOUND IT!

AND NOW for the big event...SAVORING THE CATNIP!

AH the thrill and bliss of it all...

I'm in NIP heaven

I, Peaches, am  innocent of all charges

I Paprika am VERY innocent. Of EVERYTHING.
Last but not least, I'd savored the moment where I, Carol, could try on and wear the cat scarf. But it was not to be.

Think you'll gets THIS, Carol?  No WAY!

Carol: Alas, I realized I had to lend the cat scarf to Paprika.  She can be so uppity sometimes.

Peaches:  in spite of that last minute Cat Scarf misunderstanding between Carol & Paprika, we want to thank Ms. Dawn and Lola the Rescued Cat most kindly for her thoughtfulness in providing us all a very inspired afternoon!

Paprika:  Sigh...the thrill of it all

Love, Peaches the Cat and Paprika the Cat & their grateful Human, Carol
